    • Nut Body: Screws directly onto the existing boom rope stud threads

  1. Hydraulic Coupling: Technicians attach a standard pump to the integrated 1/8” BSPP high-pressure inlet via the male quick-connect nipple fitting.
  2. Axial Elongation: Activating pump pressure drives the internal piston against the nut body, vertically stretching the support ropes along their direct axis to monitor or adjust the active load.
  3. Mechanical Load Locking: The threaded lock-ring is wound down by hand to mechanically secure the load flush against the spherical washer.
  4. Vibration Safeguard Activation: Technicians tighten the integrated socket head cap screw (SHCS) to intentionally deform the lock-ring thread slightly. This critical locking mechanism prevents the collar from spinning or releasing tension under the severe vibrations of an active dragline boom. Pump fluid pressure is then safely vented.
