Boiler Feed Pumps
Original Set-Up
Twelve large M110 x 4.0 Studs were tensioned using an hydraulic torque wrench until the desired elongation was achieved.
Issues Experienced
- Weight of large torque wrench in excess of 125kgs
- Horizontal stud position makes handling difficult
- Torque caused damage to studs, hex nuts and pump surfaces
- Irregular torque readings difficult to relate to tension
