Camnut Tensioning on Gas Turbines

For years there has been a need for cost effective tensioning procedures for Gas Turbines through out the world and technofast has the answer. Technofast new product line the camnut replaces the standard nut and together with a EziJac tensioner can tension all of the bolts on a gas turbine without having to worry and the problems face from heat and other factors that could affect the tension of the turbines studs.

 The Camnut features a unique double start tapered thread for the EziJac which means the threads will be fully engaged in just one and a half turns cutting down the time it takes to engage the EziJac and tension the stud remarkably, because the camnut has no seals their is no need for high temperature seals which can traditionaly be unreliable and extremely difficult to service.

 The cost of the camnut is also significatly less than High Temperature nuts because of the simple yet very effective design. The camnut can also be design to take up significatly less space than a high temperature nut making assembly of the nuts and studs extremely easy. The EziJac which was traditionaly to large to fit within the tight space restrictions of Gas Turbines can now also fit with the space as the design of the washer for the camnut gives and excelent platform for the EziJac to sit on.

 The photo on the right is of a camnut installed on a GE 7FA gas turbine in Korea where the camnut is currently being trialed. Once trials have been complete the turbine will be completely retrofitted with camnuts because of time and cost benifits of the tool.

 The Camnut also completely encases the stud so as there can be no damage to the stud from being knocked around which will save money by not having to replaced damaged studs and also time because the standard hex nut on the turbine are difficult to remove when the studs are damaged.

 To protect the double start tapered thread we offer metal protection caps to protect the Camnut from damage and also the atmospheric conditions they are subjected to.
